Happy New Year everyone!
I know it's the 5th day into 2011 and I'm a bit slow on the blogging front,
but hey,
my children are still on winter break,
and that means,
so. am. I.
I took a look back at my archives
just to see what I did
in 2010.
It's been a blur,
but I was pleasantly surprised to see
I was quite productive.
I actually did do something.
I chose some of my favorite projects
to share with you.
The projects I chose happened to be
done with some items I picked up from Goodwill.
Surprise surprise.
If you don't know by now,
I'm a freak about Goodwill.
In a good way, I think?
Heck, I even crowned myself
In January,
I bought this piece of artwork
from Goodwill.
With a little paint,
some cork and burlap,
I turned this rat's nest of a kitchen desk area,
into something a little more pleasing to the eye.
See how I did it all HERE.
When I saw this framed print at Goodwill,
While this frame and picture would be beautiful
in the right setting,
I wanted it to come home
with me and find a place in my setting.
My setting does not involve gold and fancy,
so I turned the piece into a something that fits perfectly in our home.
See how I did it HERE.
In May I was strolling through Pottery Barn
when I saw these napkin holders.
With a little luck and some patience
I found this bag of plain rings at Goodwill.
Using some jute from my supply lair
I made my own napkin holders.
$1.99 for 6 napkin rings!
I dance a little jig every time I use them.
This next post was my favorite project
I put together in 2010.
I put together in 2010.
I don't know what it is about linens and textiles,
but they get me every time.
While cruising the textile aisle in Goodwill,
I spied these table linens.
6 napkins and one table runner.
Crisp and brand new.
My kind of textile.
I brought them home,
laid them aside and waited for more inspiration to arrive at my doorstep.
Inspiration arrived in the form of these chargers.
Again, they were from my supplier,
Goodwill.
I love it when inspiration does that.
I used the table linens and the chargers,
not to mention some glasses and a candle holder,
all Goodwill finds,
to complete a fall tablescape.
See how I put it all together HERE.
These are just a few of my favorite
Goodwill projects.
If you look back in my Prior Features,
I pretty much spent the majority of
2010 in Goodwill.
Someone left me a comment stating,
"People aren't going to believe
you found these things at Goodwill."
Believe it people,
I did and you can too!
Helping fund Goodwill programs,
putting less waste in landfills,
all while creating a comfy home?
What's not to love?
It's going to be Popcorn and Goodwill
in 2011 once again.
Will my Mrs. Goodwill reign continue?
Stay tuned.
Do you shop Goodwill?
I'd love to see what you've found.
Sharing is caring.

Okay, I totally have Goodwill envy now. The Goodwill we have here is horrible!
