Last weekend I left my husband and kids,
to spend 4 days with
Before I left for the weekend,
I dressed Eve,
my lovely hutch,
in black and white.
No longer summer and not quite fall,
Eve was begging to say goodbye
to her coastal look.
I took this transitional time to display some milk glass pieces,
(from my overflowing Goodwill collection),
some damask print plate chargers,
and added in a dash of polka dots.
Speaking of collections,
I just can't stop myself from buying cute napkins.
These polka dot napkins
pretty much just jumped in my shopping cart.
How could I say no?
I have been this close to signing myself up to attend a support group
for those with paper product weakness.
Now, raise your hand if you think nothing says "cute"
like these polka dot cupcake liners.
If I were a really cool mom,
I would've actually made cupcakes
and used the liners as nature intended.
Here is some more milk glass
and to round it all out,
the "popcorn" bowl.
That's for guests to share.
Then,
to drive it all home,
the BIG popcorn bowl.
That's for mama bear.
I like to think it's those subtle reminders that say to the family,
"although I'm not home,
you can really never get rid of popcorn."

Very cute! I've been in the mood to drag out the fall stuff. Making myself wait. What a nice compromise! :-)

So very gorgeous! Those damask chargers are beautiful. LOVE all the black and white, it's so fresh and sharp. Seriously envious over here.
ReplyDeleteI love the black and white contrast together-sometimes it's nice not to see lots of different colors-then you can see the shapes!
ReplyDeleteI love the black & white! Gorgeous presentation :)
ReplyDeleteThis is beautiful! I used to have a great hutch that I had redone myslef, but I gave it to my sister. It was a great piece. I like that you change things for the seasons and this is really nice! Have a great weekend!
