Dollar Day Thursday

Last Thursday my, automatically programmed,
car stopped at Goodwill and I just happened to be in it.
I love it when that happens.

Thursday's are Dollar Days at Goodwill.
Did you know that?
Well, at least in my part of the country they are.

Of course, in typical Popcorn style,
I found something that was not a $1 and I just had to have it.

A cute little glass pitcher surrounded by wicker.
Perfect condition.
Like new.
$3.99
I brought it home.

Now for the $1 deals.

This metal, hurricane lamp was marked for $5.99
but with Week 25 on the label,
it was on sale for $1.

Next, one of the reasons I love to shop at thrift stores like Goodwill.
Vintage books.

5 printed in the early 1900s
and
4 printed in the 1800s.

Just looking at those pages gives me a thrill.
Yes, I just said a thrill.

Did I mention they were each $1?

Just look at those worn pages.
Thrill city.

My books are currently in a holding pattern on a table in the living room.

The lantern found its place on a small table in the kitchen
and is doing its darnedest to try and hide light switches.

My dollar day, but not a dollar, pitcher
is the lovely recipient of some beautiful flowers.
Isn't she pretty?

My Goodwill finds have come together

Wire stand, Home Goods,
everything else, Goodwill.

and will be living happily ever after.

Happily ever after,
 that is
until I decide to move them around again.

  17. No dollar days at our Goodwill, nor do I believe they mark things with weeks there stickers.

    Hm.

Thanks for stopping by and following my blog. You made my morning. Today's post is about donating to Goodwill. The things you bought today would look like clutter in my house, but you have an art for arranging that I don't have.

    Lovely!

  55. Ha....LOVE how your car automatically stopped at Goodwill. You made some excellent purchases and they all work so well in your home. Did you whitewash the wicker? It's so cute. I just dug an old wine crate (with rope handles) out of my closet today and will have to do an arrangement with you. Yours is so darling!

  60. I wish my Goodwill store did Dollar Thursdays. Oh my just think what damage I would do. By the way thanks for your kind thoughts. I am so glad that the tree missed our house and that everyone was okay. Yes, I am still babysitting those 2 little birdies. Such a good mommy.

  62. I am so jealous! We don't have any big thrift stores in town and absolutely no $ stores. It's rough. The cost of living is so high here that you can expect to pay $3 more per item than in the lower 48, even at Wal-mart. We could really use a store like that.

I am so glad you found my blog, A Hippo with a Headband. I am excitedly following you now.

  66. I soooo love goodwill... I just wish it wasnt trendy to shop there... (at least in southern ca.) Even the flea markets have become a joke... they are so overpriced and so crowded. Lately I've only been going to garage sales... which are fun but can be hit or miss. I think I'm going to try to get out to some estate sales too!

Thanks for the follow... following you back!
