Another Pottery Barn Wannabe...

You know sometimes  I can't get enough of Pottery Barn's displays.

Like this one, for example.

Of course, I can certainly get enough of their prices,

so when I saw this extra large hurricane, measuring 16" tall,

at Goodwill, you knew that was coming,

 I couldn't pass up the chance to purchase it for $10.39 to be exact.

I'm jumping on the "coastal" design bandwagon 

and outfitting our living area with touches of the coast, so this was perfect for my wannabe Pottery Barn coastal display.

If you think $10.00 for a hurricane of this magnitude is a deal,

 stay with me here and I'll break it down for you.

The candle was something I already had in my supply lair, 

so no extra cost. 

 The shells, 

I gathered those off the coast of Hawaii and Mexico.

Can you say free?

Now the sand.

I just happened to have a $5.00 gift reward to Ace Hardware, 

where they just happen to sell 50 pound bags of sand for $4.99.

I applied my little $5.00 reward towards the purchase of that 

50 pound bag of sand and got it for, you guessed it, free.

The starfish didn't come from the coast of Hawaii or Mexico, or Ace Hardware, 

it came in a bag with miscellaneious "ocean" decor  for .99 cents from GW.
