Framed Monogram

One of my recent purchases from G.W. (Goodwill) is this picture.

It's gold and

VERY ornate.

It is a lovely picture.

In my home,
gold is on the way out,
and ornate never made it's way in.

I couldn't pass it up
because I loved it's size, shape and details.

I took it apart.

Then went to town with the spray paint.

I also applied a thin glaze
to tone the color down a bit.

Now I needed something for the center.

I am no artist,
so I called Cammi over at

I knew I wanted a monogram,
but I couldn't find the right design or size I wanted.
Cammi designed exactly what I was looking for.

The gold is gone
and the frame still shows off it's lovely details,

With my paint and her brown vinyl monogram,
 my vision is now reality.

I love it when that happens.

This worked out so well,
I'm going to envision a nice clean home.

That vision may take a while to become reality.

I'm linking up to these blogs.

Stop by and see the wonderful projects.

Fabulous idea. We have to keep an open mind when we see things in the shops don't we. I think I should buy shares in the spray paint companies.

How wonderful is that! I always see interesting frames at thrift stores but can't quite figure out what I'd do with it. Thanks for giving me inspiration for the next time!

10 pops! Love it. I've got to look at my pile of frames I can't stand - that Hubster 'rescued' - and get out my spray paint.
