I'm re-publishing this post to display my "Thrifty" find at
Stop by and see all of the awesome finds.
Sit back,
make yourself comfortable,
'cause I've got a story to tell ya.
A couple of days ago,
I stopped by my local G.W. (Goodwill),
waved a friendly hello to the cashier,
Lupe,
then made my way to the treasures that were calling my name.
I made my normal route through the departments, scanning the items
looking for that special something.
Would you believe I almost left empty handed until I saw something glistening,
like a beacon in the night,
guiding me towards home?
(This is not a fantasy sequence.
This is my reality.)
My beacon,
a crystal cake stand.
Did I really need another cake stand?
I picked it up.
It was very heavy.
I examined it's details.
It was marked $9.99.
There was a small green sticker on the top.
Crisp and clean, not worn, never used.
Waterford Crystal.
Waterford Crystal?
At G.W?
Why yes,
I do need another cake stand.
Besides,
I said to myself,
I'll take it home,
do a little research,
and
if it's not the real deal,
I'll just make a return.
(Yes,
you can return items for a store credit
and use coupons, too.
I'm talking from experience here.
Arizona G.W.'s, anyway.)
As I'm making my way to Lupe's cash register,
a gentleman is walking towards me,
stops and point to the cake stand and says,
"I was just on my way to go and get that."
I politely smiled.
Let me just be honest here,
I was thinking,
"Sorry Suckaaaa, it's mine, all mine."
Again, I repeat this is not a dream/fantasy sequence.
It's my reality.
I made it home.
Googled
"Waterford Crystal, Lismore Cake Stand."
The result?
This blushing beauty is currently for sale on
for the low, low price of
$225.00.
Click the link and see for yourself!
No return for store credit here.
She's found her home.
Come to mama.
My oldest,
wants me to sell it and buy him a hockey stick.
You know what I told him?
"Sorry Suckaaaa, it's mine, all mine."
He doesn't need another hockey stick but
I need this cake stand.
This is my reality.

I recently purchased a Keurig at Goodwill for $7.99 and used my 20% off coupon. I promptly cleaned it up, made shure it worked good and placed it on CraigsList for $65. I sold it in 3 days. You should think of re-selling it on CraigsList or Ebay!
fabulous find! i scored a petite cake stand the other day at my GW but nothing compares in value to this. =] enjoy!
WOW....simply WOW....
What a deal.I have found a few good deals at my G.W. Maybe we'll find a few more.
