Pottery Barn Hockey Display Stand

I was looking through the Pottery Barn Teen catalog
when I saw this picture of a boy's bedroom dressed in hockey decor.

What caught my eye about this picture,
was the hockey player stand to the left of the bookshelves.

Hmmmm, how can I make one of those for my little hockey obsessed son?
I have 2 hockey obsessed son's but I had the younger one in mind.
I'd file this idea in a little cranny in my brain for later.

One day,
Guadalupe and the Cubana called,
they were at Goodwill(GW)
and I was in the neighborhood so I stopped in to see them.

While they were sitting around acting like they owned the place,
I saw this little coat stand.

You see where I'm going with this?

I paid $6.00 for it and brought it home to my hi-tech,
spray painting station.

I gave it a couple coats of black paint.

When it dryed,
I sent Carson out to find some of his outgrown hockey equipment.

Helmet, chest protector,
skates and a stick.

Smiling ear to ear,
he put it in his room,
added the equipment,
and displayed it like this.

Just like Pottery Barn,
only a lot less.

As for the Cubana...
she bought this frame for $.99.

If you take into account my price per use formula,
this frame has already paid for itself!

Gotta love GW,
and I'm just going to end it with this...

That is the cutest thing I have seen to display a young ones's hockey gear...and so simple! Thanks for sharing.

Love this blog!
Love this post!
Love that your friends call you from GW!
Love your GW! {mine doesn't have such great stuff :( }
Love Cubana! (Not only did she call you from GW but she looks like fun)
Love the frame she found! (If it were in my GW it would be $20.00, which I would have gladly paid)
Shall I go on?
Oh and the whole point of the post - the hockey stuff stand - is pretty darn cute too. (For us it's surf boards)
I am feeling inspired to hit the thrift store today. Maybe I'll find a treasure too.
I give you a 10! The pictures tell the story.
Blessings! Ronda
