Swimming, swimming, in a swimming pool...

Upon arriving to our weekend retreat,
we immediately made a bee line to the pool, which was a
spectacular piece of architecture.
It was here that we would gather until we were totally wrinkly and shriveled.

Normally, you can never find me in the pool.
I stay pool side tucked under an umbrella, but not this time.
This time, I ventured into the pool.
How could I resist?

I even photographed my wet toes as proof.

And to further prove to the naysayers,
mainly my husband and kids,
that I actually went in further than my ankles,
I snapped this shot.

Bam!
How's that for proof?

Next, I moved on to capture images of my friends,
who are all veterans when it comes to pool usage.

Oops, I take it back about the veteran pool users.
Word has it that I have some competition in the lack of pool usage.

It's Debbie.
Although she has swimming at the bottom of her fun things to do list,
I caught her in the act of having fun.
In a pool, of all things.

Look at Tammy.
Just looking at her fit body comes the
realization that she has never shied away from water.
So fit.
So athletic.
She's got the whole package.

I spied the toes of these bathing beauties.
Some with an argyle design.
Others with rhinestones.
Rhinestones?
Who are these people?

Sandy indulged me and gave me this pose.
Love the pose.
Sandy too.

Impatient when it comes to picture taking,
Suzanne was a good sport and gave me a marvelous smile.

Carla looks quite peaceful and serene here, doesn't she?
I tried my best not to disturb her.

Monica snagged herself a cocktail, complete with an umbrella,
and had herself some fun in the sun.

In this shot, I think Vicki was sizing up the pool
and preparing her eye for the photographs she'd soon be taking on her Nikon.
Let me just rephrase that and say,
preparing for the "eye-catching photographs" that she would soon be capturing.

Ms. Iowa (Shelly) shows us how to pause and say goodbye to the day.

Next up,
Sheila and Michelle,
forever enjoying each other's company.

Now, this next shot was like pulling teeth.
Getting 11 women to tear themselves away from their relaxing activities was a challenge.
But we did it!

Meet the Camelback Synchronized Swim Team,

Our routine?

Hmmm, yeah, this is pretty much all we've got.

But look what I caught on digital.
Some of the ladies had aspirations of their own.

For the doubles competition, Vicki and Sheila were practicing their lift.
Is there a doubles competition????

Michelle and Debbie, were concentrating on their individual routines.

Summer Olympics 2012

Don't forget, you read it hear first!
