Friday night we attended Carley's Summative at school. Her class has been studying weather this quarter. This was their night to become weather people and demonstrate what they have learned. They worked in small groups to write about their assigned subjects. It is all hands on.

Carley's subject was clouds.

First, the forecast began with a song and dance.

Because all weather forecasts should begin with a song and dance.

She was certainly strutting her stuff.

Then came her turn to speak.

She threw out words like
cumulonimbus, cirrus, stratus and cumulus.

Genius.

Remember those?

Some of the other speeches were about precipitation, wind and air pressure.

With the speeches completed, it was time again for a song and dance.

I LOVE the song and dance portion of the weather forecast.

We were humming the song all night long.

Catchy little tune.

These kids learn so much throughout the school year it's nice to see them put it all together while having some fun.

This is one of her teachers, Mrs. Larson.

She is an amazing teacher with the most awesome shoe collection. Of course, that's not what makes her an awesome teacher, but her shoes, man, that lady has style.

This is Carley with her other teacher, Ms. Bell.

Carley adores her.

Even though Ms. Bell had to step in and stop Carley from checking out the same book something like 4 weeks in a row, "The Stinky Cheese Man," Carley thinks she is still very nice.
The girl needed intervention.

Last, but not least, is this little lady, Mrs. Hughes.

She is the classroom mentor, an assistant to the teachers. Mentors are a huge part of the classroom with all of the help that they provide.
