Normally, I say no to all school field trips. I am not sure what it is exactly that created this diversion but anyway, I don't like to go. Period.
That all changed (just once) when Carson had a field trip scheduled to the Children's Museum of Phoenix. As the parent coordinator, it is my job to round up parent volunteers to accompany the children.
Well, apparently I did not beg the parents hard enough because only a few raised their field trip hands to say that they would attend. Carson's teacher and her fellow co-worker talked me into going. (reluctantly) They even threw in a bonus. I wouldn't have to ride the bus. Now you're talking.
I, in turn, threw in the demand, "make sure you assign me good kids." Is that wrong? You know, I am the class "Parent Coordinator" so I can use my title and status as leverage. At least I like to think I can.
Is that wrong?
With 2 other boys assigned to me along with Carson, we covered every inch of the museum. Their favorite area was the "car wash." There were tricycles to ride through the pretend car wash. Very popular with my group.

Wouldn't you know it, I had a great time and my boys were very well behaved. I didn't even have to threaten them with the wooden spoon hidden in my bag.
It is a "hands on" museum.
This is an ice cream stand.
Stroller parking, get it stroller parking. Clever. There is a market, complete with shopping carts, boxes and cans of food to pretend purchase. And scanners, with beepers. Clever.
How about this? Wall art made out of a recycled, plastic laundry detergent jug.
CleverWhat's with all the "clever's?" I know that's what you're saying. My blog. Clever.
Pizza anyone?
In this next picture, the area had signs that said "must be younger than 5" AND "no running."
Oh, if Carson's teacher would have seen us in this area, I would have had my field trip card revoked!
No running!
Only younger than 5 allowed!
Deep in thought. Now this next item, reminds me of what my niece, Tina Jane, in Arkansas, would play on if she had a band, potential band name, Daisy and the Halter Tops.
XylophoneClever, I know. Not my niece. The instrument.
So many more things than the above mentioned. It really is a fun place for "little people." Carley was there the week prior to Carson and her favorite place was the market.
It was a fun trip but I was so tired when I got home.
How do these teachers do this everyday?

This is entertaining. Where do you have the time to be SUPER MOM. I can barely manage getting pictures of my child passed out on the carpet by her door because she doesn't want to get into bed. BRAVO!
